An Introduction

When I was 11 years old, I started middle school without many friends or hobbies outside of swimming and filming makeup tutorials on my Motorola flip phone, so I joined Newspaper club. My middle school had a little newspaper club made up of mostly 8th grade boys. Needless to say I was intimidated as hell. Enough to still remember it.

When I wrote my very first article for the club, it was on a new teacher or principle that I sat down and interviewed. I was super nervous about something I created being published for any of my classmates to see, but that’s when my journalism teacher sat me down and told me she was putting it on the front page.

MY article? On the front page? My middle school self was SHOOK. She told me that I needed to keep writing — she saw potential in me. My relationship with writing began as early as that: when the very first article I ever wrote for middle school newspaper club made it to the front page.

I guess that made enough of an impact on me to major in journalism with a specialization in Fashion & Magazine Production. I’m also pursuing a retail merchandising & fashion product development minor. I’m part of Ohio University’s Honors Tutorial College, which allows me to be mentored one-on-one by professors with background in magazine journalism, PR, advertising, news, broadcasting, you name it. It’s an amazing opportunity and I’m incredibly blessed to be receiving such a specialized education.

My interests right now are in styling, editorial, public relations, creative directing, event planning, social media, photography, and videography.

I currently work on my school’s fashion magazine, Thread. I style photoshoots, write feature articles, and do photography for it, and am starting sophomore year on the executive board this coming Fall semester.

So with that, I wanted a separate space for me to really talk about anything I wanted. SoooOoooOOoOoo happy you found it! Welcome to my public travel, lifestyle, and fashion journal.
